Biography

I'm a research associate in the School of Physics and Astronomy Group at Cardiff University. I obtained my PhD in Physics at the University of Exeter with Dr. Jenny Hatchell (thesis titled 'A Submillimetre Study of Nearby Star Formation using Molecular Line Data' ) in 2014 and previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College London with Dr. Subu Mohanty. My particular research interests include using far-infrared, millimetre and radio telescopes to study the initial conditions of low mass star formation and evolution, molecular outflows, protostellar disks and planet formation.

Prior to obtaining my PhD, I completed my BSc (1st, Hons) in Physics with Maths minor from Loyola University of New Orleans and worked as a guest scientist for the Experimental Astrophysics Group at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, Illinois.

In addition to studying stars and planets, I'm enthusiastic about communicating astronomy with the public. I work closely with Royal Observatory Greenwich, where I can often be found giving planetarium shows and student workshops.
