Nitride quantum dots/disks in nanopillars for single photon emitting applications

Nanostructures based on nitride as single photon sources (SPS) have attracted plenty of research interests. They can provide a wide wavelength range from UV to visible and even to near-infrared by changing alloy composition and the working temperature has been demonstrated to be 350K. They are good candidates for on-chip integration and electrical pumping. Here I would like to talk about our research results on InGaN/GaN quantum dots in nanowires by MBE for single photon emission. Also, I would like to present our attempts on the top-down approach to realize single photon emitting by fabricating quantum dots/disks in nanopillars. In the end, I would like to briefly introduce other research interests and facilities of our group.
