The effect of OAM light on Dirac and Weyl materials

Light with orbital angular momentum (OAM) can be used to excite vortex states in Dirac semimetals. Further, we can control vortex states dynamically with temporally modulated OAM beams. To model the light-matter interaction, we use the Floquet theory by simply adding a time-vary vector potential term to the Dirac model and solve them using the Bessel decomposition [1]. In this talk, I will explain how vortex states can be produced in Dirac semimetals and outline my plan to extend to Weyl materials. [1] L. I. Massaro, C. Meese, N. P. Sandler, and M. M.
